For those following the major offshore races, the first start of the Transat Jacques Vabre 2023 took place today in Le Havre. The conditions were manageable according to the skippers, but still impressive with a strong 30 knots wind and 2.5 meters waves. This is the first start because there will be more: a huge storm is approaching and will literally cut through the Bay of Biscay in the middle of the week. The Ultims should arrive thanks to their impressive average speed before the worst of the storm, while the Ocean Fifty and Class 40 boats will stop in 36 hours at the base of Lorient (so it's a return home for some ;-) ). As for the Imoca boats and our Swiss duo, Alan Roura and Simon Koster, the start of their class is currently postponed. According to the forecasts, they could go have a few beers at the port bar
